I call this antique white because this work looks and feels like white painted metal after being exposed to the elements for decades. To achieve this rich surface I sandblast or texture in some way, the high iron body after it is bone dry. Each piece is so different as the body it rests on burns through in different ways to leave rust to white variations. The dark pewter you see is from me sanding through it all to reveal the color of the clay after reduction. The interior glaze is a heavy iron saturate that complements the surface perfectly.
Not only does the patina vary from piece to piece it can vary widely on one piece itself.
This piece is approximately 5.5 inches tall by 6 inches wide.
