The wavy jars I started making especially for soda because they capture so much of the dynamic movement of the flame as it carries the soda from piece to piece.
This jar is no exception because it changes from top to bottom. The side where the soda hit directly is a smooth sheet of glass fading into a wonderful lizard skin gray texture. This texture disipates into the most delicate salmon color on the back side as the soda moved on through the kiln to its next piece.
Jar is soda fired and is made from porcelain clay.
